Privacy Policy

Who this policy covers

This policy describes how the Gluten Free Recipes website at gfcooking.food handles information when you browse recipes, articles, and product links. There is no user account. Privacy requests go to contact@gfcooking.food.

Information we and our partners collect

We do not ask you to create an account. The tools below still receive technical and usage information, including cookie identifiers, when they run.

  • Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-VHT4FHWDHQ). Pages viewed, roughly how long a visit lasts, how you arrived, device and browser type, language, and a coarse location derived from your IP address. Outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics runs by default to count visits and pages viewed. It sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_<ID>) kept up to 2 years in your browser. Google processes this data for us as a service provider; we do not sell it or use it for targeted ads. You can turn it off anytime with Decline or Privacy choices, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, analytics only runs after you click Accept. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off for our Google Analytics property. On our articles about celiac disease and other health conditions, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity run only after you click Accept, wherever you are.
  • Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-6048217377722572). No ads run on this site yet, and our pages do not load Google's AdSense code. If we turn on ads, AdSense could use cookies and similar identifiers to show and measure ads, including ads based on activity across sites (personalized ads) where that is allowed, and we will update this policy before that happens. You can also review Google’s ad settings.
  • Amazon Associates. Some ingredient and product names link to Amazon with our affiliate tag. If you follow one of those links, Amazon may set or read its own cookies to attribute a purchase and to measure the referral. We earn a commission on qualifying purchases. We do not receive your Amazon account details or payment card number. See Amazon’s privacy notice.
  • Microsoft Clarity (project wo0v6q1lgb). Clarity records how pages are used, including clicks, scrolls, and session replays, and sets its own cookies (such as _clck and _clsk). Recordings are used to see which parts of a recipe page are hard to use.
  • OneSignal (app ID db6c7376-de00-47e0-ba8c-cfc9ed995015). If you allow notifications, OneSignal stores a push subscription identifier and browser data so we can send recipe notifications. You can turn notifications off in your browser.
  • MailerLite (account 2330878). A signup form may load from MailerLite. If you submit an email address, MailerLite stores it to send the messages you asked for. Browsing the site does not require an email address.
  • Cloudflare. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes connection data such as IP address to deliver the site and to resist abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Your cookie choice and your sale/share opt-out are stored in this browser’s local storage (cookie_consent and sale_share_opt_out). Those values stay on your device until you clear site data.

Cookies and the consent banner

On a first visit, a banner explains your cookie choices. What runs before you choose depends on where you are.

Outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics runs by default to count visits and pages viewed. You can turn it off anytime with Decline or Privacy choices. Decline deletes the _ga and _ga_<ID> cookies, stops further analytics, and is remembered in this browser.

In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, analytics only runs after you click Accept, and Google Consent Mode starts with ad storage, ad user data, ad personalization and analytics storage denied. If we can't tell which country you are in, analytics also waits until you click Accept.

If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, or you have opted out of sale or share below, Google Analytics does not run unless you click Accept.

Microsoft Clarity, OneSignal notifications and MailerLite email pop-ups load only after you click Accept, wherever you are. If you decline, we do not load them. We do not load Google's AdSense code while no ads run. Where Google's certified consent tool is shown, that tool is the one banner. Details of the cookies are in the Cookie Policy.

The footer control Privacy choices / Manage consent reopens that banner so you can accept or decline. Where Google's certified consent tool is active, the same control opens that tool instead.

You can change or withdraw your choices at any time with Privacy choices in the footer. Analytics can be turned off there. Ad choices reopens our cookie banner, or Google's consent tool where it is active.

No ads run on this site yet, so no third-party vendor serves ads here today. If we turn on Google AdSense ads, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies would enable it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Other ad technology companies that Google works with may also set cookies to serve and measure ads; before ads go live, we will name them or link to where you can see them. Google explains how it uses this information in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. If we turn on ads, our articles about celiac disease as a health condition will show only non-personalized ads, and we will not use custom ad targeting, audience lists, or a Google Analytics remarketing link.

You may opt out of personalized advertising from Google at any time by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info or, in Europe, at www.youronlinechoices.eu. Personalized ads can be a sale or share under California law; you can opt out in the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information section below, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal as that opt-out.

Purposes

  • Measure which recipes and guides are used, so we can fix navigation and content.
  • Remember your cookie choice and your sale/share opt-out.
  • If we add ads in the future: show and measure advertisements, including personalized ads where that is allowed and you agree, to fund the site.
  • Attribute Amazon purchases that start from a product link on this site.
  • See how pages are used (Clarity) and, if you opt in, send push notifications (OneSignal) or email (MailerLite).
  • Deliver the site and respond to privacy requests.

Legal bases (GDPR and UK GDPR)

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you:

  • Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for analytics cookies, advertising cookies, personalized ads, Clarity recordings, push notifications, and the email form. You can withdraw consent by choosing Decline on the banner, clearing site data, or using the opt-out below. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already happened.
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for Cloudflare’s security and delivery logs, and for keeping this site available. You can object by emailing contact@gfcooking.food.

We do not use your information to make a decision that produces a legal effect about you.

CCPA / CPRA categories

If the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, applies, the categories we and our advertising and analytics partners collect are:

  • Identifiers, such as cookie IDs, a push subscription ID, and an IP address.
  • Internet or other electronic network activity, such as pages viewed, ad clicks, and affiliate-link clicks.
  • Approximate geolocation derived from an IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.
  • Commercial information limited to the fact that a product link was used. We do not receive your Amazon order contents or payment data.
  • Inferences that Google may draw to select a personalized ad, if we add ads.
  • Professional or employment information, education, and government IDs: we do not ask for these.

Sensitive personal information is not required to use the site. If you email us about a medical diet, that message is used only to answer you.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Personalized advertising is a sale or share under California law. This section is how you opt out.

No ads run on this site yet. If we add personalized ads from Google AdSense, they would use information across websites and apps. Under the CCPA/CPRA, that cross-context behavioral advertising is a “sale” or “share” of personal information. Amazon may set its own cookies when you open an affiliate link, which can also be cross-context advertising by Amazon. We do not hand over a mailing list in exchange for money.

Google Analytics is handled differently. Google processes analytics data for us as a service provider: Google signals, ad personalization and data sharing with other Google products are turned off, and our Google Analytics property is not linked to any Google advertising product. We do not sell analytics data or use it for targeted ads. You can still turn analytics off with Decline or Privacy choices.

You can opt out of sale or share for this browser with the button below. The opt-out is stored in local storage and Google Consent Mode is updated so ad_personalization and ad_user_data are denied. You can also email contact@gfcooking.food. Opting out does not change your access to recipes.

Checking this browser…

Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends Global Privacy Control (navigator.globalPrivacyControl), we treat that signal as an opt-out of sale or share and as an opt-out of Google Analytics. We store the opt-out in this browser, set ad personalization and ad user data to denied, and do not run Google Analytics unless you click Accept. Privacy choices shows "Opt-out preference signal honored" for this browser. A Global Privacy Control signal keeps ad personalization off even if you later accept the cookie banner.

Retention

  • The cookie choice and the sale/share opt-out remain in this browser until you clear site data for gfcooking.food.
  • Google Analytics keeps event-level data for 2 months, then deletes it, and keeps user-level data for 2 months. The _ga cookies stay in your browser for up to 2 years unless you clear them or click Decline.
  • Google advertising cookies commonly last up to about 13 months, under Google’s own schedule.
  • Microsoft Clarity, OneSignal, MailerLite, Amazon, and Cloudflare keep data on the schedules in their own policies. We do not run a separate visitor database of page views.
  • Email you send to contact@gfcooking.food is kept long enough to handle the request and any follow-up, then deleted when we no longer need it for that purpose.

Your rights and how to use them

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know, access, correct, or delete personal information, to opt out of sale or share, to limit use of sensitive information, to data portability, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. You will not be charged a different price for recipes because you exercised a privacy right.

Email contact@gfcooking.food with the right you want to use and the browser or email that is relevant. An authorized agent may write for you if they show permission to act for you. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask for enough information to confirm that the request is yours. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, or, in California, to the California Privacy Protection Agency.

You can decline cookies on the banner, use the opt-out button on this page, turn on Global Privacy Control, install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or adjust Google ad settings.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email contact@gfcooking.food and we will delete it.
